Have you ever used an illustration or inspiring story to initially encourage others only to have those words ring in your ears later on when you at least expect it? I have, and I would like to tell you a little about that. I once received an e-mail sent to me that defined faith in the following way. Faith is when you come to the end of all the things you know and you step off the edge trusting in one of two things either God will provide the next step or He will teach you how to fly.
I took that large step myself at the onset of this new decade as I packed up my family of five and we headed from the Bootheel of Missouri, north 4 ½ hours and 330 miles away from all I have ever known and all my family to Prince Avenue Baptist. Why so far away, I was asked, there are many churches here a lot closer. My Mom was called home in 2009 and was this really the right time to leave home and my Dad? God knows what I needed and has brought me to that and He will do the same for you, If you are willing to do so. But it is costly, but it is so REWARDING!!!
I grew up with the pain of rejection and isolation from the world and those in it. Does this sound familiar? I turned to so many things out of desperation and seeking acceptance from anyone at any cost. When I least expected it, God reached down to me and accepted me as I was and changed me by His Spirit to what He intended me to be: His beloved child!! So don’t give up, give into His will completely. I needed a family, He provided me one. Prince Avenue is a ministering, caring and non-judgmental group of people that I have ever seen. I am not just selling you a line to gain membership to our roles, I am offering peace and acceptance that is often times rare in these days.
Don’t believe me, then test me. Come as you are to any of our services and see for yourself how you are treated. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’ve come from, we just want to help you get where you need to be: AT PEACE.
Refresh yourself with the parables of Christ in Matthew 13:44-46. Would you give up all you have now, for everything God wants you to have? What do you have to lose? ANSWER: All the layers of frustration and shame that you have brought on yourself by serving sin. It makes us feel worthless and then that worthlessness makes us feel completely hopeless.
Do you feel worthless? I did, but not anymore since I discovered God’s love for me, 1Cor. 6:20, I was bought at a price! Why, what am I worth? God’s son that’s what!!! I have value in Christ and His people at Prince Avenue keep me feeling valued. So please my friends allow Christ to give you the value you need and let us at Prince Avenue extend that feeling as you join our family of Faith.
Valued In Christ Through His People At Prince Avenue,
